Affordable Serial Multiplexor PDF Print E-mail

serialmultiplexoronrovWith the constant increase in tasks performed by ROVs, and the increase of sensors and equipment requirements, finding enough configurable serial channels can be a challenge. Our µTTU (microTTU - compact subsea serial multiplexer) uses a single ROV channel to provide six additional channels or ports. Utilizing this “Data Concentration” technique with the µTTU adds valuable extra communications capability. The µTTU outputs data at the surface to either physical serial ports on the PC or to virtual COM ports where data can be taken directly into any application running on the PC. The surface software also allows for data logging of each channel to a separate file. Each subsea channel can be independently configured from the surface to the required baud rate and parity of the equipment interfaced. By storing the configuration data in the NVRAM it allows for onshore setup and faster offshore installation. The unit also provides either 24V or 12V out to power the remote sensors.

rovinmarineconstructionThe µTTU is specifically designed for the harsh subsea environment and it has a depth rating of 4000 meters. Zupt’s innovative pressure balanced design ensures affordability of the unit. Our multiplexers can also be customized for your ROV operations to fit your exact needs. The µTTU offers a flexible solution to a very real ROV problem.
