Civil Engineering
Not only have our mobile inertial systems been proven to work for land seismic, but both B-PINS™ and A-PINS™ are also shown to be effective in other fields including mining and dam survey.
Mining
Trying to get a precise survey of a mine in any situation can be difficult. The differentiating environments of an underground mine cripple the ability to use typical survey equipment that need flat areas and line of sight, both of which are difficult and time consuming to obtain. Even in a strip mine, the area that needs surveying are hostile to typical GPS surveying, making the results imprecise, costing time and money to compile data needed.
B-PINS™ can get this done.
Although GPS isn’t used for an underground mine the same concept applies to both underground and above ground mines, that makes inertial survey so successful for land seismic.
The environmental requirements for B-PINS™ are the same as in Land Seismic. There is no need for large, expensive, and not to mention slow, machines to create a space that is friendly to optic survey equipment. The customer only needs to align, walk, ZUPT, and collect the data. Simple, easy, and precise…
Dam Survey
Zupt’s A-PINS™, has also shown to be effective and precise for use in dam survey.
A recent project that we worked on, a Dam was to be built in a valley and therefore a lake would be made. Our customers needed a precise survey within 6 inches of were the lake’s end shore would be. Using the inertial unit it was possible to work on the steep terrain that was present and at the same time precisely position stakes to flag off the area that was to be flooded.
Our Inertial system allowed for precise results even in rough terrain.
