Zupt is one of the
“Program Modes” of GPSeismic™ v2006.4 by Dynamic Survey Solutions, Inc.
Houston, TX, January, 2007. Being now the number
one integrator and manufacturer of portable inertial land survey systems in
the world, Zupt has been included in the seismic survey software used by
practically all exploration surveyors in the world: GPSeismic. In the
miscellaneous dialogue, click the option “Zupt” and the routine “QuikLoad™”
of the GPSeismic software will create by default the preplot and control
files (with extension .zgw) accepted by our field software Zing v1.6. Reciprocally,
our survey files from the field (extensions .zgs) will upload directly into
the routine QuikView™ for further processing, error compensation, report
(All text, mapping and graphing formats), and database storage and
analysis.
Zupt
llc has now rented, sold –or received order for- more backpack portable
inertial systems (B-PINS) than any other manufacturer. Its field software
Zing™ runs on weatherproof PDAs (currently the TDS Recon™. TDS is a Trimble
company). Uploads and Downloads of files between the Data Collector and
your processing PC are done using Microsoft ActiveSync™ via an USB or
serial connection.

Zupt Introduces Second Generation Inertial Backpack
Houston, TX, November, 2006. As the only active supplier
of precise portable inertial navigation systems, Zupt continues to innovate
with the introduction of its second generation B-PINS. “We are constantly
communicating with our customers to collect fresh ideas in order to improve
our hardware and software” says Keith Vickery, Zupt president.

The
new lighter backpack is more ergonomic and streamlined to better penetrate
the bush and underbrush while being worn.
The Bluetooth© wireless communication system, which links the
latest generation TDS Recon-X™ data collector
and the backpack, has been strengthened. Stronger wireless transceivers and
an “Auto-reacquire” routine have been developed to make the connection
unbreakable even in the rain or adverse elements.
After many
thousands of operational hours of harsh field operations, a few unexpected
weaknesses in the original design have been identified. The orange
coating on the original pack design would wear.
|
The new shell
is manufactured from a solid orange impact resistant KYDEX®. The belt buckle on the original harness
would crack and sometimes break and some operators requested thicker
padding in specific areas of the harness. The harness design was completely
reviewed and overhauled for the second generation system.
The overall
waterproofing has been improved with the new design. While the lower 30% of the pack can still
be immersed in water with no consequence (during the crossing of a river)
the rest of the backpack can now be subjected to driving rain, or other
elements, all day without any humidity penetration due to the single
element structure of the upper orange shell.

On the same
note, both the field data collection software Zing™, and the
post-processing capabilities within GPseismic are also improving, thanks to
the constant feed back from our customers, including some of the major
seismic contractors. The latest version has been updated to include direct
access to pre and post processing tables.
Focusing on the
application of our technology Adaptability has always been the motto of
Zupt. We invite our current and
future customers to keep sending feed back for continuous improvement of
our products.
