preciseelectricalriseranglemonitorProviding precise differential riser angle data is an absolute necessity to ensure no key seating or adverse wear through the LMRP and BOP stack. Our SH-ERA (Stack Heading and Electrical Riser Angle System) provides high resolution heading and attitude data using state of the art inertial navigation technology in a cost effective package.

 

This system provides high update rate data that provides very clear direction to the DPO/BCO as to the direction and magnitude of surface movement required to minimize the differential angle across the flex joint. The resolution of our sensors is such that the system can unambiguously deliver data showing differential angles as small as 0.05 degrees.

 

The SH-ERA has been designed from the ground up to easily deploy into your existing mux system consuming very little power and interfacing via industry standard methods. The housings are rated to 4,000m and can accommodate a variety of connectors (PBOF Seacon or Subconn). The packaging has been designed to allow the components to be installed out of the way within the existing subsea hardware.

 

The surface software of the SH-ERA has been designed to output telegrams as a DP position reference sensor. The update rate and precision will allow for the DP desk to easily accept and use this data as a “relative” position reference.
